Tournament organizers announced today that the eighth annual Paul W. Smith Golf Classic, benefitting Think Detroit PAL, has sold out.
This is the first time in the tournament’s history that tickets and sponsorships have sold out more than a month in advance. The Paul W. Smith Golf Classic is a vital contributor to the values-based athletic, academic and leadership development programs of Think Detroit PAL. These character-enriching programs continue to produce accomplished scholars and athletes. Net proceeds from the tournament are approaching $3 million.
Of the sell-out, tournament chairman Paul W. Smith says, “The continued success of the tournament is attributed to our great sponsor support. Even through down economic times, our sponsors continue to stick by us and we thank them for that.”
News/Talk 760 WJR is the event’s title sponsor. Ford Motor Company, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Compuware Corporation, The Chrysler Foundation, General Motors and The Detroit International Bridge Company are the presenting sponsors of the tournament. Donations and auction items are still being accepted. For more information, contact the tournament office at 313-203-7248 or visit www.paulwsmithgolf.com.
